Seth Johnson was the first man to drive over the road up the Great Hurricane
Fault. He did this to explore the Upper Virgin River country. The road was called The Johnsons Tovist(?). Seth drove two yokes of oxen with an empty wagon.

The twins Elijah and John Broadhead were named after ministers in the town where they were born. The ministers bearing their names were found in Canaan, Grafton, NH. They were assigned to that district from 1804-1807.Information from Diana L. Goings's grandfather.
